The main melody/lead is driven throughout the track by a deep, pitch-bending Theremin “wobbler” (a wobble/tremolo effect processor).
This “Theremin Wobbler” slithers through every build-up like a creepy, eerie snake, creating tension and anticipation.
The Theremin is that ancient electronic instrument you play without touching it (by moving your hands between two antennas to control pitch and volume), inherently giving off a very “sci-fi/ghostly” vibe. Here, it’s processed with pitch-bending (smooth glides in pitch), then further shaped into a wobble (rapid back-and-forth oscillation, like the classic “wub-wub-wub” in dubstep bass), resulting in a twisted, otherworldly, almost “writhing” lead line in the low-end — super unique and cutting-edge!
