Sora creators should export first
OpenAI's Help Center says the Sora web and app experiences will be discontinued on April 26, 2026, and recommends exporting Sora content before that date. It also says post-discontinuation export availability is still being determined.
That makes the practical rule simple: if you created important Sora videos, export them now.
Preservation checklist
Use this order:
1. Request your official Sora export through OpenAI's export flow. 2. Download completed ZIP files as soon as they are ready. 3. Store a copy somewhere outside your main computer, such as cloud storage or an external drive. 4. Keep a simple spreadsheet with video title, posted date, source URL, views, likes, remixes, and notes. 5. Save your public creator profile and top videos as references.
